Feast of St. Vincent Pallotti/Devotional Book Release
Date: Monday, January 22, 2024
Time: 2 p.m.
Location: SMMC Main Lobby
Details: As part of SMMC’s centennial celebration, The St. Mary’s Story, a detailed history of the medical center, and Praying the CHRIST Values of St. Mary’s, a devotional/prayer book, will be officially released to the public for purchase. Jan. 22 is the Feast of St. Vincent Pallotti, the founder of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters, who established SMMC. The commemorative book set can be purchased for $30 at Madeleine’s Boutique & Unique Gifts on the ground floor of SMMC, or online at www.mountainhealthfoundations.org/centennial-book/.
Historical Timeline Dedication Ceremony
Date: Tuesday, March 19, 2024
Time: 2 p.m.
Location: SMMC Main Lobby
Details: A walk-through timeline sharing the history of St. Mary’s Medical Center will be dedicated, followed by a reception for retirees and former employees in St. Vincent’s Café.
Hospital Week Celebration
Date: May 12-18, 2024
Details: The annual Hospital Week Cookout and other activities will carry a Centennial theme. Centennial T-shirts will be available.
St. Mary’s Gala
Date: Saturday, May 18, 2024
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Marshall University Recreation Center
Details: The annual gala will focus on SMMC’s 100-year legacy. Tickets will be available for purchase prior to the event.
Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade
Date: Monday, May 27, 2024
Time: 10 a.m.
Location: Downtown Ironton, Ohio
Details: Employees from St. Mary’s ER-Ironton will commemorate the Centennial by joining the 156th edition of the nation’s oldest continuously running Memorial Day parade. T-shirts and candy will be passed out to attendees.
Legacy Children’s Carnival & All Ages Health Fair
Date: Saturday, June 1, 2024
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: St. Mary's Conference Center parking lot (beside Urgent Care)
Details: Free children’s games and activities, as well as health information and screenings for all ages will be offered.
The Legacy Luau
Date: Saturday, July 20, 2024
Time: 6-10 p.m.
Location: St. Mary's Center for Education Parking Lot
Details: Employees are welcome to wear their favorite luau attire and dance to the sounds of Santa Cruz. Tickets will be available for purchase prior to the event.

Centennial Celebration Dinner
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: St. Mary's Conference Center, 2849 Fifth Avenue, Huntington, WV
Details: The theme for the Centennial Celebration Dinner is "View the Past, See the Future." Bishop Mark E. Brennan of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston will join the Pallottine Missionary Sisters and leaders from SMMC and the community for a special evening of celebration. The newest members of the St. Mary’s Wall of Fame will also be recognized.
