Marshall Health, a member of Marshall Health Network, welcomes Mirza Beg, M.D., FACR, an experienced adult rheumatologist to its team of internal medicine specialists.
Beg specializes in diagnosing and treating a broad range of conditions, including inflammatory disorders that affect muscles, joints and bones; connective tissue diseases that affect supporting structures like ligaments and tendons; and autoimmune diseases, like Sjogren’s syndrome. He sees patients at Marshall Health exclusively through in-office telemedicine visits. Patients are first assessed by a medical professional before connecting with Beg through a real-time video conference.
He has practiced adult rheumatology for more than 17 years with health care groups in Texas and, most recently, Virginia. Beg earned his medical degree from the University of Karachi in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, followed by a rheumatology fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with subspecialty certification in Rheumatology.
Beg also serves as an assistant professor of medicine at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. His educational interests focus on a group of inflammatory diseases that affect the spine and joints. This includes conditions like ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and reactive arthritis.
Beg is accepting new patients and referrals at Marshall Internal Medicine, a provider-based department of Cabell Huntington Hospital, at 1249 15th Street in Huntington.
