Jamie Falls Retires After 37 Years of Service to Marshall Health Network

Tuesday, November 12, 2024

Jamie Falls, executive assistant to the CEO of Marshall Health Network (MHN), has retired after an impressive 37 years of dedicated service.

As she headed to work on her first day, listening to Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer, Jamie likely didn’t realize she would be spending almost four decades with her new employer. It was 1987 and she had two young children, a four-year-old and two-year-old, and jokes that she modeled as the pregnant woman in several hospital OB ads.

Jamie’s journey at MHN began as the secretary to the vice president of Marketing. She then worked in the legal department before becoming the executive assistant to the CEO later that year. Over her career, she had the honor of supporting and guiding seven different CEOs, along with countless members of the executive team.

Reflecting on her early days, Jamie recalls, “When I started, shorthand was still the norm in meetings, computers were rare, and we used pagers instead of cell phones. The dress code was much stricter, though I did get to wear the Cabby mascot costume for school tours more than once!”

Known for her dedication, warmth, and professionalism, Jamie became the backbone of the administrative office, providing steadfast support to leaders and inspiring everyone she worked with.

When asked what she would miss the most in retirement, Jamie’s eyes filled with emotion as she replied, “I’ll miss the people.” Her parting wisdom to her colleagues: “Take chances. Don’t be afraid. Have fun, but most of all, be kind.”

A retirement celebration was held for Jamie on Oct. 30, where many long-time colleagues and family members gathered to wish her well. Congratulations, Jamie! You will be greatly missed.
