This state-of-the-art facility is providing quality education to the finest health care professionals and students in the area in the fields of nursing, medical imaging and respiratory care.
The long-standing traditions of excellence within the St. Mary's educational programs are enhanced by the capabilities and opportunities within the walls of the new St. Mary's Center for Education. Throughout the center students and visitors are able to enhance their education through some of the many amenities.
The 58,000 square foot, $10 million dollar facility includes all the teaching and practicum needs of today's health care.
The benefits expected from this project are considerable for the many communities in West Virginia. This facility provided St. Mary's the opportunity to increase enrollment in an effort to narrow the gap in the impending nursing shortage. It also serves as a center for distance learning and offers students the latest in training technologies, such as incredibly lifelike human patient simulators. These simulators enhance the traditional methods of teaching and develop students' clinical and critical thinking skills in a safe environment without risk to real patients.
